Shiatsu Healing Technique

Originally, Shiatsu is from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) but was developed in Japan in the 20th century. The basic concept of shiatsu is to balance the life force in the body which is more commonly known as “chi” in Chinese or “ki” in Japanese.

“Chi” flows through our body via internal organs, muscles, tissues and cells. Any imbalance of “chi” will influence our well being, physically and metally.

Shiatsu is basically very useful on healing stress related condition such as tension headache, upsetting stomach and insomnia. With Shiatsu, the finger pressure applied on different location. This healing technique can also be used as a preventive health care.

Here is a basic Shiatsu technique that is designed to improve “chi” circulation through the body with three easy basic steps:

Step 1
In a space of at least two meter in length and width, stand comfortably at your normal position, shake your hands, your arms, legs and feet loosely, to let go of all the tension. Concurrently, keep your back straight and breathe deeply for 90 seconds (one and half minute)

Step 2
Moving your hand to the top of your head, gently tap your head with your knuckles and finger moving from back to front and right to left. You can adjust the pressure as needed. This step should last for another 90 seconds.

Step 3
Next, move your hands from the side of your head by pulling your fingers through your hair a few times (max 10 times).

You will feel more at ease after performing this Shiatsu self healing technique. This basic Shiatsu technique can help to aid concentration and reduce stress.
