Om Meditation Technique

Om meditation technique has existed thousand years ago. This Om Meditation was previously called Aum Meditation, it is a mantra meditation. There are also a few new versions that had been revised from this meditation but most of the master had lost count how many meditation had derived from this Om Meditation Technique.

Nonetheless, the basic is still preserved until today. A better explanation had been included instead.

One of the benefits of this meditation is that it is very easy to go into vibration with the words “Ooohmm”. It is definitely worth a try for beginners.

Mantra meditation is always good for beginners because there are something to focus on, in this case is the word Om. Mantra meditation is also good to avoid mind wandering.

You are free to change anything but here are the basic of Om Meditation Technique, try it out and see if you can sense your inner vibration with this technique.
The most important point here is, this Om Meditation is encouraged to be done alone especially for beginners because doing in group will have you distracted.

The environment preference for Om Meditation Technique is definitely alone in an enclose room. Now let’s get started:

Step 1
Sit in a relax position. It doesn’t matter if you are sitting on a chair or on a floor.
The older version written is sitting on the floor but with more and more improve version some are suggesting on meditation mat. My suggestion is sit in a relax position is good enough.

Step 2 (max 20 minutes)
Close your eyes and hum the word “Ooohmm”. It is alright to hum loudly since you are alone in the room. The louder you hum, the faster you will experience the hollowness inside your self, like a tube going down from your throat to the centre of the stomach.

Do not chant the Om mantra for more than 20minutes. The first 5 minutes is to get you into the meditation state; in the next 10 - 15 minutes, you will feel the hollowness and vibration; then human mind will starts to kick in, the mind will tell you that chanting is boring and will bring you backwards or forward of time and the meditative state will be lost. For meditator as a beginner, the journey ends here.

BUT For intermediate meditator, another stage of experience will arise from this “Om” meditation.
