“How can I know my inner self?”

Most of us are living in a worldly society with multiple challenges, we may be focusing on playing when we are seven, study hard when we are 14. Working or studying when we are 21. At 35 most of the people are working through their lives towards 42 then on and on without any changes in the inner self. The only change, we may have children then grandchildren and great grand-children. We are only growing old on the surface but nothing is change in our inner self.

Time does not grow old only people grow old. Time has nothing to do with our inner self.  I have met a lot of people who asked “Do I have to give up material possessions in order to search my inner self?”

“Are you ready to do that?” that is usually my answer.

No master out there who will ask us to give our possession in order to search our inner self. Every master, I am talking about real master here, they will help us to unlearn the things that we had learned all your life.

The reason is very simple. We are growing in a very different environment and if you notice there are some rules in our mind that tell us to believe in certain things and not believe the others. These rules are programs that had taught from our parents or teachers in order for us to build our character when we are young until today. The rules are used in order for us to survive in the outer world and these are not to be used in the inner world.

However the master will not be able to tell us that this is wrong because how can we accept that the things we are learning all these while is wrong? The ego will not accept it. It will rebel and totally shut out the idea. That is called “to unlearn the learned”. Yes, this quote has be mis-used by many people before. The master will not come hard at us and tell us this wrong and that is right. We or our being has to be able to grasp the wisdom.
