What is meditative state?

Again, understanding and experience is the key to meditation. So, it is pretty common to have doubts of meditative state.

Let’s go into detail and talk about what is meditative state. In short, “awareness with no-mind exist is meditative state”. This statement is difficult to understand if you do not have any reference of the no-mind state.

In fact, you are experiencing no-mind condition everyday, when you are sleeping; when you are staring at an object or a person without thinking; when you are running; when you are talking; these action can become no-mind if you are aware.

One simple example is when you are running. When you begin your running exercise usually there are a lot of things on your mind, and you continue running, somehow you will reach a state that you are too tired of thinking, then comes the ego, pushing you to attain the goal of probably further and further, another 100metre, another and another, you own ego is pushing you towards your goal until you are so tired that the body could not support your brain anymore, all muscles are so deprived of oxygen and finally, mind could not exist anymore, then coming to the stage that running is there and you are no longer there. This experience, the experience that you are no longer there and just running is there is a meditative state.

The difference is you are not aware that this is the state that you are searching. This is the reason why people feel good after running. There is certain other scientific explanation as well, for example, hormone is releasing to make you feel good after exercising, the only missing piece is this glimpses of meditative that is letting you have the “punch” to connect you with the whole.
